Balanagar Technical Institute Industrial Training Centre, an ITC recognized by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India, was established in the year 1977 specifically to provide job oriented education/training to the inmates of the Balanagar Orphanage so as to make them employable, and thus enabling them to stand on their own feet and earn their living.
Balanagar Technical Institute has been recognized as one of the best ITC’s in the state and has students from all over the state. The present strength of students is above 1000. The major courses conducted by the ITC are: Mechanic, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning, Welder (Gas & Electric), Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), Electronic Mechanic, Electrician, and Draughtsman Civil.
Besides the above, we are also conducting advanced courses in X-Ray Welding and Pipe/ Structural Fabrication & Fitting in view of the very high demand for qualified Welders and Fitters/Fabricators in overseas markets, especially in the Middle East. As a result, we have been successful in deploying several thousand unemployed youths with a number of reputed overseas clients.
Now Balanagar ITC has carved a niche area for itself among the Industrial Training Centres managed by the private sector. Because of the reputation it has earned in this field, our institute is attracting students even from far off places in the state.
Teaming up with TOYOTA, the world leader in Automobile Technology
Recently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Corporation (TKM), Bangalore, which is a joint venture operation between TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION, the world leader in Automobile Engineering, and KIRLOSKAR MOTORS, one of the pioneers in Petrol & Diesel Engines, Motors and Pumps in India, selected Balanagar ITC as their one and only centre in Kerala for providing the most modern and state-of-the-art training to the students of our Automobile Engineering Section, under their scheme, “TOYOTA Technical and Education Programme” (T-TEP).
Participation of our students in this Programme will ensure the enhancement of their employability by making them well versed in the latest technological advances in automobile engineering. This new association with a world leader will add a new colourful feather to the cap of Balanagar ITC, which already has several other “numero uno’s” to its credit!
